Kekusheva the mansion on Ostozhenka auctioned


Moscow. June 29. INTERFAX.RU – an apartment house Kekusheva Ostozhenka – a striking example of Moscow art Nouveau, having the status of object of a cultural heritage of Federal importance – put up for auction, is spoken in the message of Department of Moscow on competition policy.

As noted by the organizer of the auction, their winner will have to preserve the unique architectural monument, restored in 2000-ies. The three-storey building with an area of 1.5 thousand square meters is located at ulitsa Ostozhenka, 19, p. 1.

The starting price of the contract for the sale of the mansion is 291,5 million. Applications may be submitted until August 8, the auction scheduled for August 12. The property is situated in the economic management of the GUM, the “Moscow property”.

Three-storey apartment house was built in 1903 by architect L. N. Kekushev next to that he built two years earlier alone (Ostozhenka, 21). Both buildings architect recorded his wife Anna Ionovna Kekusheva. In Soviet times the building housed a medical facility.

The building is considered one of the possible locations of Margarita in Mikhail Bulgakov’s novel “Master and Margarita”.
