Verkhovna Rada Deputy of Ukraine Serhiy Leshchenko said that in the near future the country will have legalized gay marriage. In his opinion, the bill will be approved by either the current or the following members of the Ukrainian Parliament.
“Whether it’s in 2017? I do not know. Perhaps the current Parliament not adopt this law, but the next,” – said Leshchenko in an interview with Reed. According to him, legalization of homosexual marriage may be one of the conditions for Ukraine’s integration into the European Union.
In March of this year the Ukrainian government issued a document in which he announced the intention to allow same-sex marriages in the second quarter of next year.
Cabinet also noted the need to remove the “discriminatory” ban on adoptions by transgender people.
