Moscow. September 16. INTERFAX.RU – the anti-terrorist service of the Belgian Federal police raided at the place of residence of individuals suspected of involvement in jihadist circles, has informed on Friday TV channel RTBF.
The searches took place yesterday in Brussels and Liege.
As confirmed by the Federal Prosecutor’s office, in the end the police operation detained two people, one of whom is suspected of involvement in a terrorist organization.
According to the channel, he went through the online messenger active correspondence in which he reported his preparations for a terrorist attack. Law enforcement authorities considered this threat serious enough to carry out the operation.
RTBF said that the suspect was already known to the police, but not in cases related to terrorism. The rest of the day he must appear before the examining magistrate.

The TV station also reports that one of the objectives of the investigation is to determine whether the detainees with a terrorist network, recently identified in France, which communicate using the same messenger.
