Moscow. September 17. INTERFAX.RU illegal canvassing in Moscow detained 27 people. This was reported “Interfax” the press service of the Moscow Central Directorate of police.
“Today, the police received a message stating that the Marsala Birjuzova street near the house number 13 unknown handing out leaflets with propaganda materials in support of the candidate in deputies of the state Duma Dmitry Gudkov. Arrived at the specified address, the guards found two young men who were handing out campaign materials. Also in other locations in the North-West of Moscow identified another 25 citizens who were carrying out illegal campaigning in support of the same candidate,” – said the press officer.
According to him, the detainees were taken to the territorial police departments. The issue of attraction them to administrative responsibility under article 5.10 of the administrative code of the Russian Federation “election campaigning, propaganda on issues of the referendum outside the campaign period and in places where its carrying out is forbidden by the legislation on elections and referendums”.
17 and 18 September, campaigning in any form is prohibited.
