FAS against the use of antitrust law to the researchers of the TV audience

MOSCOW, June 16 The Federal Antimonopoly service (FAS) considers unacceptable the proposal of the state accreditation of companies exploring the audience of television channels through which these organizations not subject to the restrictions provided by the antitrust law, said Thursday the head of Department of control of advertising and unfair competition FAS of Nikolay Kartashev.

The bill also provides that in relation to the activities of the accredited organizations do not apply the limitations provided for by the Antimonopoly legislation of the Russian Federation and other normative legal acts on protection of competition.

“The bill provides for the presence of several of these organizations. We now want to consciously allow a cartel, for example, price or the market or do we want to prevent unfair competition, well, such as, for example, discredit, location are false, inaccurate or distorted information from one organization against the other? We all do, if we leave this entry, that these organizations are not subject to the provisions of the antitrust laws. What is the novel? We are categorically against it”, — said Kartashov during the round table in the state Duma.
